Disturbance Leads to an Aggravated Assault

Tyler — On May 31, 2011 at approximately 10:15 p.m. Tyler police officers were dispatched to a Traffic Flow involving a disabled vehicle in the 2500 block of W. Front St.

While speaking with the driver they learned that he was the victim of a shooting that had just occurred. According to the victim, he was meeting with the suspect in a nearby park when a disturbance broke out between the two of them.

The victim attempted to leave the area, but the suspect began following him. The suspect managed to catch-up to the victim and fire several gunshots at the victim, striking and disabling the victim’s vehicle.

The victim did not sustain any injuries and the suspect immediately fled the area. Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit were notified and responded to the scene.

The case remains under investigation.
