Distracted Salvation Army driver hits pedestrian in Tyler

TYLER — According to Tyler police, a Salvation Army van turned left from Bow Street onto North Broadway and hit a man with a mirror.

He was allegedly walking in the middle of the street when he was struck.

The driver claims he was distracted by something when the accident occurred, but KETK was not told what diverted the driver's attention.

The pedestrian was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
 


Tyler police confirm a man has been hit by a vehicle in front of the Salvation Army building.

Officials say it happened in the 800 block around 10:45 a.m.

The severity of the man's injuries are unclear.
