Crews battle house fire in Tyler

TYLER — The Tyler Fire Department released the following information:

The Tyler Fire Department responded to a two-alarm structure fire at 1204 N. Broadway Avenue. The initial call was received at 12:03 p.m. and the caller reported flames were visible from the two story house. First arriving unit reported a working house fire and called for a second alarm. Six engines and two Ladder Companies, along with a District Chief and an Investigator, responded to the scene.

The fire appears to have started on the back porch and is still under investigation. Residents were not at home when the fire started. There was heavy fire damage to the entire house including the attic. In addition, there was heavy smoke damage throughout the house.

Officials also tell KETK the building is a halfway house.


Crews are currently battling a house fire near the intersection of Broadway and Queen Street in Tyler.

KETK has a crew headed to the scene and will bring you more information as it becomes available.
