Copper thieves strike in Lufkin

Lufkin — Copper bandits strike two different Lufkin buildings today.
Both thefts were reported to the Lufkin Police Department this morning.
Police officials tell KFXK the first theft took place in the 1900 block of East Denman Avenue. Tools, along with copper from a weatherhead, were taken from a building under construction.
Thieves also stole copper wiring from two air conditioning units from a business, HASBROS, in the 900 of Atkinson Drive.
It is unknown if the burglaries are related.
