Tyler, TX — The Delta Sigma Theta, Tyler Alumnae Chapter, will partner with the City of Tyler’s Parks and Recreation Department to host an art and photography exhibit at the Glass Recreation Center
on April 6, and is looking for local talent to feature.
The show will be called “Through the Lens of Curtis Humphrey,” a tribute to the highly regarded local photographer Curtis Humphrey. He was born in East Texas in 1907 and worked as a farmer before moving to Fort Worth, where he fell in love with photography. He went on to teach at Wiley College in Marshall and at Texas College in Tyler in the late 1940’s.
Any local artists or photographers who would like their work to be displayed in the exhibit should contact Pam Erwin by phone at (903) 618-0104 or by email at Pamela.firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Glass Recreation Center is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is located at 501 W. 32nd St.
