City of Hudson passes K2 ban
HUDSON — Hudson Police will be enforcing a K2 ban passed by city council Tuesday night.
The ban, which was passed unanimously, makes possessing or selling the synthetic marijuana K2 and its counterparts a Class C misdemeanor. Although a Class C misdemeanor is punishable by up to a $500 fine, Hudson’s city ordinance makes the maximum fine $2,000, as determined by a judge, according to Police Chief Jeff Burns.
“This is a push to keep it out of our schools and out of our stores,” Burns said. “We’ve heard several issues from it coming out of Lufkin and Nacogdoches so we’re just trying to be on the ball.”
