Citizens file lawsuit over alcohol petitions
Tyler, TX (FOX 51) — A lawsuit was filed Monday morning in a Smith County Courtroom against the City of Tyler and Smith County over the authenticity of the alcohol petitions.
Those who filed the lawsuit claim that not all of the signatures on the City of Tyler and Smith County JP Precinct 2 are valid.
According the lawsuit documents, they claim that more than 5,000 signatures on the petitions are invalid.
They also claim that the Freedom of Information act was violated.
