U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers arrested two individuals and seized $2.4 million in cocaine.

On Thursday, June 27, CBP officers, working the Hidalgo port of entry, encountered two Mexican citizens in a 2001 Ford F-150 truck attempting to cross into the United States.

The male driver, 26, and a female passenger, 25, were referred to a secondary inspection where the vehicle was scanned with an imaging system that detected abnormalities in the vehicle.

Agents searched the truck and discovered 30 packages, weighing over 75 lbs., of alleged cocaine. Both individuals were handed over to Homeland Security Investigations for further questioning.
