NBC News — An Oregon man was arrested on felony drug charges after inadvertently dialing 911 just before a drug deal on Monday.
An emergency dispatcher got the call just after midnight and heard what she thought was a drug deal. The dispatcher tracked the phone's GPS signal and it led police to an alley about a block away from the police department.
Two people sitting in a car nearby denied having a working cell phone, but the officer spoke loudly and the dispatcher confirmed that she could hear him.
This I will say, it is a first, and we got a chuckle around the department. They don't make it that easy for us usually," saidMolalla Officer Aaron Christopherson.
