A water level some 6 feet below the dam has prompted closure of boat ramps at Martin Creek Lake, Park Ranger Lee Roberts reported.
"We've had to close them out of concern for our boaters as well as our swimmers," he said, explaining that swimmers and boating are not safe in low-water conditions.
Swimming still is allowed in the lake, he added.
"We're just not allowing any boaters," he said. "We're down about six and a half feet and going. We need lots of rain."
The spillway on the lake will hold 306 feet of water. Roberts said the lake level Friday morning was 299.9 feet.
