AZ governor offers to keep Grand Canyon open with state money, U.S. government declines
Arizona (FOX51) — Arizona republican governor Jan Brewer, made an announcement on her Facebook page earlier Friday morning concerning the federally-run Grand Canyon.

Brewer announced the offered to re-open the Grand Canyon to visitors by using Arizona state money, but federal officials declined her offer.
Brewer went on to say, "I really shouldn't be surprised that the Obama Administration doesn't want Arizona's help."
The Grand Canyon is just one of many national parks and monuments closed to the public due to the government shutdown.
