Attempted robbery in 5400 block of S. Broadway in Tyler

UPDATE:

The suspected robber is identified as a white male in his mid 20's. Officers say he was wearing a ball cap, a grey shirt and shorts.

Sergeant Robeson says that the man pointed an unknown weapon at a pharmacist and demanded prescription pills. The robber did leave with an unknown amount of pills.

Customers at Walgreens and employees were inside the building but there were no injuries and no shots were fired.

The police do have a possible vehicle identification. They are saying it is a black four door sedan.

The car was last seen leaving the Walgreens parking lot heading south on Broadway.

Officials say there may be no plates on the car.

Earlier today around four this afternoon there was a similar robbery at the Brookshires on Hwy 155 in Flint demanding drugs as well. The thief got away as well.
