Arrests made in Tyler robbery

TYLER — Tyler Police Investigators have identified and arrested the two suspects responsible for the Robbery of Johnnie Roy on May 5th. The suspects are identified as Anthony Eugene Thomas, B/M, (11-28-1985) age 25, of Tyler and Emanuel James Hayes, B/M, (12-2-1989) age 21, of Tyler. Both suspects are in Smith County Jail, bond was set at $100,000 each.

On May 5, 2011 at approximately 10:16 p.m. Tyler police officers responded to a Robbery of an Individual that had just occurred within the 500 block of south Bois D’ Arc Ave. As officers arrived on scene they began speaking with the victim while EMS personnel treated his injuries. According to the victim, he heard a knock on his front door and noticed two black males dressed in dark colored clothing asking to speak with him. The victim stated he opened the door and was immediately attacked and knocked to the floor by the suspects. Once on the floor the victim stated the suspects continued assaulting him before taking an undetermined amount of cash from his person and fleeing the scene. When asked to describe the suspects the victim could only remember one of the suspects being in his mid-twenties, 6’0”, 250 lbs., and bald. After speaking with the victim he was transported to Trinity Mother Frances hospital for additional treatment of his non-life threatening injuries. The crime scene was processed for evidence and detectives from the Crimes Against Persons Unit responded to the scene. The case remains under investigation.
