APEX Entertainment and Liberty Hall present “The 39 Steps” on stage

Friday, March 15, 2013 - 10:25am

The City of Tyler’s Liberty Hall with APEX Entertainment will present Alfred Hitchcock’s “The 39 Steps” live on stage, Thursday, March 21, 22 and 23 at 7:30 p.m. each night.

“The 39 Steps" is the two-time Tony Award-winning hit show which continues to be an audience-pleaser. The amazingly brilliant cast of four, plays over 140 characters in this play. The New York Times calls it "Absurdly Enjoyable." What you will see is an incredibly fast-paced romp through the story of Hitchcock’s film. It is a pastiche, an affectionate and very funny transposition of the film onto the stage. The play contains set pieces that are iconic: the train top chase, the Forth Bridge escape and Mr. Memory at the Palladium. Much of the joy in the show is in seeing these moments recreated through the physicality and vocal talent of the four performers.

It is also an evocative tribute to a 1930’s Britain of cold mists, steam engines and a clearly demarcated social system where people know their place. And at its center, juxtaposed with the comedy, is a love story.

No need to travel to Dallas to see performances at a professional level – get your tickets now for “The 39 Steps” in downtown Tyler. For more information about APEX or Theatre 20 please call (903) 740-5387.
