A wanted murderer is captured by the Nacogdoches Police Department after he was spotted on the west Loop Wednesday night.

Officers were first made aware of the fugitive after a broadcast from the U.S. Marshal's Office for a homicide in Alice, Texas.

At around 7:15 p.m., about 40 minutes after the alert, a patrolman saw a vehicle matching the provided description traveling southbound on the west Loop.

Following confirmation of the vehicle description, a coordinated traffic stop was made at the intersection of South Street and Loop 224. The suspect, David Cantu, Jr., was arrested and booked into the Nacogdoches County Jail.
