4 Lufkin-area store clerks caught selling alcohol to a minor

Lufkin, TX —
A March sting led to the arrests of four Lufkin-area convenience store workers this week for allegedly selling alcohol to a minor.
On March 9, Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission officer Joey Davidson coordinated with a “youthful-looking” 17-year-old secret shopper to test whether store clerks were asking for identification for alcohol sales. While several locations were checked, it was found that Karen Payne at Coleman’s in Zavalla, Sayed Raza at Huntington Speed Mart, Linda Eaves at Polk Pick It Up No. 3 on Highway 69 south and Seth Leggett sold alcohol to the underage shopper, a Class A misdemeanor, according to an arrest affidavit.
