3 men hold residents at gunpoint in Tyler

On Monday at approximately 11:32 p.m. the Tyler Police Department received an emergency telephone call regarding a Robbery that just occurred at the Dovetree Apartments. As officers arrived on scene they were informed that the suspects were three black males and that they had fled the area in an unknown direction. At this time several officers checked the immediate area for any possible suspects while the remaining officers contacted and checked the welfare of the victims.

While speaking with the victims, officers learned the suspects had forced their way into the victims' apartment, believing a friend was knocking at their door. The victims, whose names are presently being withheld, stated the suspects were armed with a handgun and threatened to harm them should they call the police. The suspects rummaged through the apartment and took an undisclosed amount of property before fleeing the apartment.

The victims described the suspects as being between 18 and 21 years of age with bandanas covering their faces. The victims were not injured as a result of the incident and detectives from the Tyler Police Department's Major Crimes Unit responded to the scene. The case remains under investigation.

Crimestoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest and charges filed against the suspects in this case, or any, felony case.
