Three people have been arrested and are currently being interrogated in connection with a robbery that took place Wednesday morning in Hallsville.

According to Harrison County dispatchers, they received a call around 11:15 a.m. regarding a burglary on the 4400 block of Smelly Road in Hallsville, Texas. The caller, an 81-year-old neighbor, saw two men allegedly enter the house, so he grabbed his 38 revolver and confronted them. The suspects struggled with the elderly man for a few minutes and disarmed him, then hit him with the gun in his forehead, knocking him to the ground. The robbers then left the scene in a 2-door black small vehicle with the victim's gun.

Shortly after this incident, a burglary was committed in Lakeport, Texas, where a witness described similar suspects and clothing, as well as a similar vehicle.

Troopers spotted a vehicle matching the description occupied by two men and a woman that matched the clothing description of the suspects of the burglary on Smelley Rd. The car was stopped on FM 2011 in Gregg County. As the Trooper approached the vehicle, he noticed a 38 revolver inside. The weapon was removed, and after checking the serial number, found the revolver to be the reported weapon taken during the robbery from Harrison County. The passengers were arrested and taken to Gregg County Sheriff’s Office to be interviewed.

The alleged suspects are:

Bruce Vactor, 23

Jeremy Germaine Jackson, 30

Brittany Bush, 24

Charges pertaining to the offenses in Harrison County will be filed in the District Attorney’s Office.
