2 arrested in string of fights stemming from Pine Tree/Hallsville volleyball game
Longview, Texas (KETK) — According to the Longview Police Department, two women were arrested on the Pine Tree ISD campus, Tuesday night, in Longview.
Wykennia Wilder, 41, and Craysheuna Key, 21, both of Longview, were arrested for disorderly conduct and causing a disturbance in the PTISD parking lot following the Hallsville/Pine Tree volleyball game. The women were booked into the Gregg County Jail on $500 bond.
According to Longview Police Department Public Information Officer, Kristie Brian, some Pine Tree students and Hallsville students were shouting at each other during the game and it spilled over into the parking lot. The police ran the students off campus before a another fight broke out between the schools.
Brian tells FOX51, about 20 Pine Tree and Hallsville students then prepared to meet in the Taco Bell parking lot on Loop 281 in Longview, but ended up fighting in the Super 1 parking lot. Authorities received the call concerning the fight around 9:45 p.m.
Shawn Winn, manager of Super 1 Foods, tells FOX51, the police responded to the fight in force.
"It was a pretty big deal," said Winn. "There were multiple police cars that responded and a lot of officers. Our security cameras didn't capture the fight because they don't reach that far. It was pretty crazy, though."
According to multiple sources, Pine Tree head football coach, Derek Fitzhenry, was called to the scene because football players were involved.
FOX51 contacted the Hallsville Independent School District Police Department and on-campus officers said the administration had just heard about the incident until Wednesday morning. They found out through student's Twitter accounts and Instagram pages. No Hallsville faculty members were called to the scene of the fight. Our calls to Pine Tree ISD have not been returned.
Authorities tell FOX51 no arrests were made as a result of the off-campus fight.
