UPDATE: Store clerk holds "suspicious man" at gunpoint; Man released after questioning

TYLER — Tyler Police tell KFXK crews on scene that they were dispatched to a mattress store on the 3500 block of South Broadway just before 3:00 pm on Thursday.


A store clerk had called in a robbery, after witnessing a man that the clerk deemed "suspicious".


The man was reportedly wandering around the business, and had hidden between mattresses.


The clerk held the man at gunpoint until police arrived.


The man was detained by police for questioning, but was released a short time later.


Tyler Police tell KFXK, they have determined that there was no robbery at this location.

According to officials, the employees of the business have a suspect held at gunpoint.
