UPDATE: Names released in fatal Hallsville wreck

Hallsville, Tx — Smith County DPS officials have released the names of the passengers involved in Tuesday night's fatal wreck in Hallsville.

According to Trooper Jean Dark, one passenger, Alejandro Olvera, 16, was killed in the crash. The driver Samuel Ellis, 18, and Austin Urbellis, 17, are listed in critical condition at a Longview hospital.

All three people were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.


A Hallsville High School student was killed and two others were injured Tuesday afternoon in a one-car crash in Hallsville.

The wreck on Willow Road occurred when the driver lost control of the vehicle, which left the road and hit a tree, said Hallsville Police Chief Paul Montoya.

He declined to identify the victims, but said all three were students at Hallsville High School.
