The Tyler Public Library will host its Spring Book Sale in the Library’s Taylor Auditorium, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, March 15-18.
“We are selling adult and childrens’ fiction and non-fiction books, as well as audio books, videotapes, encyclopedias and textbooks,” says Evelyn McLane, Library programming associate. “Most items are priced at $1 or less.”
Items for sale include donations which do not meet the Library’s current needs and worn-out resources that have been withdrawn from Library circulation. Library staff and volunteers have been sorting and preparing sale items throughout the past year.
“All proceeds from our sales go toward the purchase of new or replacement items for the Library’s collection,” says McLane. “We expect to have thousands of items on hand, all of them new to this sale.”
The sale will be open 10 a.m.–7 p.m. on Thursday, March 15; 10 a.m.–5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, March 16 and 17; and 1-4 p.m. on Sunday, March 18.
On Thursday, Friday and Saturday, adult hardback books are priced at $1 while paperbacks and children’s books are just 50¢. On Sunday, the Library will provide cardboard boxes that can be filled for $5 and paper grocery bags to fill for $2. There is no preview of sale items or early sales.
Tyler Public Library is located at 201 S. College in downtown Tyler. More information about the sale can be found on the Library website: www.tylerlibrary.com or by calling (903) 593-7323.
