Ore City woman given life sentence in murder of tenth husband

An Upshur County jury on Monday morning sentenced an Ore City woman to life in prison after convicting her of her husband's murder.

Sharon Maxwell was found guilty Friday of murdering her tenth husband, Gordon Maxwell, by shooting him four times in the head then burning his body in his pickup on Aug. 30, 2011.

The punishment considered by the jury ranged from five years in prison to life in prison, District Judge Lauren Parish said.
