Nacogdoches police arrest boyfriend in toddler injury case
Nacogdoches — Nacogdoches officials have arrested one person in connection with an injury to a child incident that was reported on March 22.
Police took 23-year old Jerome Mansfield Tyler, of Nacogdoches, into custody Monday morning at his home. He is charged with causing injury to a one-year old girl that was in his care. Tyler is the boyfriend of the child’s mother.
Authorities were first called to a report of an unresponsive child at an apartment in the 100 block of Old Line Drive. The child was found with an head injury and was taken to a Houston hospital for treatment.
The current condition of the one-year old is unknown.
The Nacogdoches Police Department and Child Protective Services were notified and opened an investigation.
