Man attempts to rob local Walmart with pellet gun

On December 22, 2012 at 12:07 a.m., officers responded to an armed subject call at Wal-mart, located at 2440 Gilmer Road.
When Officerse arrived, witnesses told them a Hispanic male, later identified as Juquin Daniel Gallardo 20, of Gladewater, attempted to break the glass to gain access into the store's pharmacy.
When he was unsuccessful at breaking the glass he took out what appeared to be a handgun and pointed it at two different clerks.
Gallardo demanded the keys to the pharmacy.
However, the store clerks did not have access to the pharmacy keys. Upon further investigation it was determined the gun was actually a toy gun.

Longview police have arrested the man they say tried to rob a Walmart late Fridasy night.
Lonview police tell us the incident happened at around midnight, at the Walmart on Gilmer Road in Longview.
They say the suspect walked around the store for 2 hours before pulling out a pellet gun, and demanded keys to the stores pharmacy.
When the Longview police arrived they arrested the suspect inside the Walmart.
He is charged with robbery.
Police say has requested off duty police officers for security at the store for the time being.
No injuries were reported.
