Late night robbery in Tyler

Late Thursday night at about 11:40 p.m., Tyler Police Department officers responded to a robbery that happened at 3236 W. Gentry Parkway, The Lone Star Motel.

  Officers contacted the victim, who stated he was robbed at gunpoint while sitting in his vehicle.  According to the victim,  he was sitting in his vehicle waiting for it to warm-up when he was approached by a black male wearing a dark colored ski mask. 

The suspect asked the victim for a cigarette and the victim told him no. 

The suspect then produced a black handgun and demanded all the money in his wallet.  The victim gave the suspect an undetermined amount of case before running away. 

The victim was not injured during the incident and could not provide any further suspect description.  The case remains under investigation.

Anyone with information about the suspects involved in this crime are urged to contact the Tyler Police Department, at 903-531-1000, or Crimestoppers, at 903-597-CUFF (903-597-2833).  Crimestoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest and charges filed against the suspects in this case, or any, felony case.
