Smith County, TX (FOX 51) — David and Sabrina Kimbley were back in a Smith County courtroom on Thursday.
They made their appearance in the 321st District Court for a custody hearing presided by Judge Carole Clark.
Child Protective Service officials tell FOX 51, the hearing was part of the routine status hearings that follow the removal of children from their home.
The Kimbley's were arrested and indicted on 13 counts of child endangerment last year.
The five Kimbley children were removed from the Kimbley's care following the death of two year old Jacob Kimbley in August of 2012.
Initial reports indicated that the toddler went missing during a game of hide and seek at his home on FM 16 near Winona, launching an overnight search.
More than 150 emergency responders and volunteers using 4-wheelers, helicopters, and horse-mounted deputies searched into the night for the boy.
His body was discovered in a septic tank near the house just after 1:00 am the following morning.
