GLADEWATER — The city of Gladewater is searching for a new streets and parks supervisor who also can be a public works director when the city takes over water and sewer responsibilities in 2013.
City Manager Sean Pate said this past week that the council was looking to hire after Streets and Parks Supervisor Dennis Jones resigned March 6. Pate said he could not disclose details of the resignation because it was a personnel matter.
The city wants the person hired to be capable of handling water and sewer duties because it does not intend to renew its contract with Veolia in 2013, he said. The city will be accepting applications for the next 30 days.
