Authorities identify victim in fatal shooting on I-30

Winfield — On Thursday, authorities  identified a man shot and killed by a police officer during a traffic stop on Interstate 30 near Winfield.

Brian Michael Fuller, 23, of New York state was killed Wednesday afternoon by a Winfield police officer after he grabbed the officer’s gun during the traffic stop, Titus County officials said.

Initial reports released Wednesday evening indicated an officer was shot, as reported in the Longview News-Journal's Thursday paper. Though shots were fired at the officer, he was not hit, officials said.
