UPDATE: Mother-daughter bank robbers may be responsible for Henderson bank robbery

Gulfport Police Department — On March 26, 2012, at approximately 1:00 p.m. the Gulfport Police Department responded to Regions Bank, located at 9420 Highway 49 for a report of an armed robbery in progress.

While responding to the bank officers were given a vehicle description and the vehicle was located fleeing eastbound on Interstate 10. The vehicle was stopped and both Herrin and Crew were taken into custody without incident.

During the course of the following investigation evidence was recovered from the suspect vehicle as well as the stolen proceeds. The Federal Bureau of Investigation is also involved in the investigation and the investigation is ongoing.
 


Henderson — Rusk County officials say a mother-daughter bank robbery team who were arrested in Gulfport, MS on Monday may be the two who robbed the Citizens National Bank.

The mother and daughter have been involved in at least four robberies, all in similar fashion.

They are identified by the Gulfport Police Department as Evie Mearlene Herrin, 57, and Amelia Darci Crew, 30, both of Cleveland, Texas. They're being held in a Mississippi jail, each on a $200,000 bond.

Tyler FBI agents and local agencies are working with the Gulfport FBI office in this case.

Rusk County Sheriffs officials have confirmed with KFXK that they are looking for another person of interest in connection with this robbery.

KFXK has been told officials are looking for a woman who can be seen in security footage parking a white four door sedan outside the Valero gas station near Citizens National Bank.

The woman is described as a white female with brown hair, wearing a fushia t-shirt, pink hoodie and flip flops.

She can be seen on surveillance video entering the Valero at the same time as another woman is robbing the bank. The woman in the hoodie doesn't purchase anything from the Valero, but returns to the vehicle and speeds away with the bank robber.

Sheriffs officials also tell KFXK, the bank robber had what appears to be a semi-automatic handgun that was shown to bank tellers.

Authorities say they have already received some potential leads on this incident, and welcome any information that the public can provide.

FBI officials tell KFXK, they are assisting Henderson Police in the search for the woman involved in the robbery of Citizens National Bank in Henderson on Tuesday morning.

They tell us, a second woman may have been involved in the robber's getaway.

Officials tell KFXK, the bank robber did display a handgun to the teller at the bank.

There are no leads yet as to the identities of either women involved in the incident.

Officials are now looking for a woman in connection with the Citizens National Bank robbery in Henderson.

At around 10 a.m., a woman described as a white female, average height and a stocky build held up the bank at gunpoint.

According to witnesses, the robber was dressed "heavily" as a disguise.

The robber demanded money, showing a handgun. However, she made no threats. The woman then left the bank in a vehicle. Police could not give a description of the getaway vehicle.

According to the Henderson Daily News, the Citizens National Bank in Henderson has been robbed.

It happened Tuesday morning in 2300 block of Highway 79.
