Palestine police searching for alleged armed robber

On January 5, 2013 at approximately 8:15 officers from the Palestine Police Department were dispatched to the Family Dollar Store located in the 300 block of East Spring Street in reference to an armed robbery.

Officers were advised that a black male had entered the store armed with a hand gun and demanded money. The suspect was given the money from the cash registers. The suspect left the store with an undetermined amount of money. No one was injured during this incident.

Witnesses stated that the suspect was a black male just over 6 feet tall and had a thin build. The suspect was wearing a white jacket, white gloves, dark pants, and black shoes. The suspect was also armed with a black in color handgun. The suspect had some type of clothing, possibly a t-shirt covering part of his face.

Police arrived on the scene within minutes of receiving the call and betgan a search for the suspect. After an extensive search of the area the suspect was not located.
