Monday, June 13, 2011 - 7:29pm

PRESS RELEASE FROM TYLER ISD:

Tyler ISD is pleased to announce that Randy Huffstickler has accepted the role as the Interim Head Football Coach of the Robert E. Lee High School Red Raiders. Huffstickler has been the Defensive Coordinator of the team for the past 7 years and last year he also served as the Assistant Head Coach.

According to Rod Kaspar, Tyler ISD Director of Athletics, “With the time constraints involved with the start of a new football season, the interim coaching situation will serve as a seamless transition for the student athletes. The culture and tradition of Robert E. Lee football will stay the same and give the players an opportunity to continue to move forward in a positive direction.”

The interim position begins immediately. The possibility of considering applications for the permanent role will be revisited at the end of the year.
