On Thursday, September 9th, The Quilters' Guild of East Texas will install next year's officers. The installation will happen at the 10 am meeting at First Baptist Church—South Campus, 17002 Hwy 69 South, Tyler, TX. At both the 10 am and 7 pm meetings, our guest speaker will be Brenda Jeschke who will share her thoughts on “What The Judges Look For” to help members working on quilts for the Azalea Quilt Show. Ms. Jeschke has won many awards on the local, regional and national level showing her quilts. Her work has appeared in several quilt magazines and books, as well as the Ziegler Museum in Jennings, Louisiana.

Ms. Jeschke began quilting in 1982 and started showing her quilts in competition in 1989. She is a traditional quilt maker, a machine piecer, hand appliquer and hand quilter. In 1998, she began judging quilt shows throughout Texas. Lecturing and teaching workshops were added to her resume in 2001. She considers herself to be "just an ordinary girl who happens to love to make quilts and share her knowledge."
