The Pearce Museum is please to kick off its fall programming with Artist-in-Residence program scheduled for Friday and Saturday, October 1 and October 2, 2010. The two-day program will be hosted by Native-American artist Raymond Sikes.

The Arist-in-Residence program will introduce the use of symbols in Native-American artwork, what they mean, and how symbol connect to another to create a story. Participants will create their own Native American shields using mixed materials, and then paint their own "story" on it using personal symbols.

The workshop will begin at 9a.m. and end around 4p.m. both days, with a light reception and celebration to close out the event on Saturday afternoon. Lunch is on-your-own both Friday and Saturday.

Space is limited, so don't miss out on this unique opportunity! The fee to attend the two-day Artist-in-Residence Program with Ray Sikes is $85 for museum members and $105 for non-members.
