“REACH FOR YOUR SPIRITUAL POTENTIAL”
Romans 8:29 Romans 8:38-39
MARSHALL, TEXAS – The West Side Church of Christ Women’s Ministry will host their 16th Annual Ladies Day Conference on Saturday, February 13, 2010 to be held at 3003 Hynson Springs Road, Marshall, Texas with registration beginning at 8:30 in the morning at the congregation sanctuary. Lunch will be served immediately following the program in the congregation fellowship hall sponsored by the women of the congregation. An invitation to welcome women of all denominations and faiths are extended to the community for every woman and girl.
This annual gathering has welcomed more than 700 guests annually to Marshall, Texas. The event is designed to bring Christian women together to enjoy a day of fellowship and spiritual guidance. The coordinator and minister’s wife, Mrs. Bonnie Andrew, supports this special occasion as it has a dual purpose to increase sisterly relations throughout our community as it brings together a unique opportunity for Christian women of all faiths and for women to come together in support of Christian ethical values designed for all women, young and old. Mrs. Andrews states the theme for this year’s annual celebration is Reach for your Spiritual Potential. “In today’s uncertain times every woman is charged with growth and empowerment for their families and personal growth for their selves. This conference will provide direction and purpose to secure their ultimate potential as Christian women and girls”, she says.
The outpouring of support within the church of Christ community is evident by the support of the leadership, elders, deacons and membership of the West Side Church family. Mr. Claude I. Andrews, minister of the West Side congregation says that every year, “the Westside sisters strive to present a program that is spiritual, edifying and informative. This year is no exception. They have chosen sisters who are spiritual and God-fearing as presenters; sisters who realize and accept the greatness of Christ in them by always striving to walk, talk and stand for Christ. Today, it is the hope of our sisters that you are motivated to reach for your spiritual potential and be all that you can be in Christ.”
The keynote speaker for the adult women lecture is Mrs. Eddie Hightower. She is a member of the Fifth Ward Church of Christ of Houston, Texas. Musical selections will be provided by the a cappella recording ensemble, Dawn, of the Dallas Metropolis which is comprised of members from the Dallas Fort Worth Metropolis Church of Christ congregations. Other presenters for this year’s observance are Mrs. Dorothy Franklin, who will provide the presentation for all girls’ ages 4-5 years old, Mrs. LaTanya Flowers who will present for all girls 6-8 years old, Mrs. Margaret Davis, who will present for the young girls ages 9-12 years of age. The teenage speaker for this year’s observance will be Mrs. Glenda Smith of the Pops Landing Church of Christ in Harleton, Texas.
